IHT is a tax on transfers of assets in form of inheritances, gifts or other transactions either during the transferor’s lifetime or on death. Inheritance Tax (IHT) is paid by the beneficiaries when a person’s estate is worth more than the tax-free threshold, that is currently valued at £325,000 when they die – exemptions, passing on property.
